ACECAU’s 2010-2012 Strategic Planning is the reference document which, through the analysis of ACECAU’s situation, will guarantee its harmonic and efficient development.
The foundations of ACECAU’s Strategic Planning for 2010-2012 horizon have been drawn up from ACECAU management team’s conclusions, enhanced with collaborators and ACECAU technicians’ opinions, as well as with the experience and results obtained in the previous Strategic Planning for 2006-2008.
These conclusions were enriched with the analysis obtained from entities outside the agency, with people in charge of other national assessment and accreditation agencies, as well as with several international agencies knowledge from experience and achievements.
Finally, different documents and information on similar organizations were analyzed, which had to be taken into account for the establishment of this plan basis:
- Existing documents in ACECAU (statutes, different directions activities, technical documents, etc…).
- Benchmarking (comparative study) carried out through the Internet on international agencies for quality assurance in higher education.
- Code of good practice, approved by the European Consortium for Accreditation, ECA.
- “Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area” document, prepared by ENQA (European Association for Quality Assurance in Higher Education).
This document defines what ACECAU is, but most of all, it is suitable to set the path towards what we want to be: the main reference of Canarian System of universities (SUC) quality, that contributes with its activity to create and encourage the ideal conditions in which Canarian universities can develop all their potential and maximize the quality of the public service of higher education. To do so, it will maintain international quality standards, accredited in its internal organization and management systems.
