The Canarian Government adapts the Agency for University Quality Assessment and Accreditation to Europe.
On January 12 the Canarian Government passed the Decree by which the organizing and working structure of the Canarian Agency for University Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ACECAU) is regulated and on January 21 it was published in the Canarian Official Gazette (BOC nº 1321 January 2010).

On January 12 the Canarian Government passed the Decree by which the Canarian Agency for University Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ACECAU) is regulated in order to adapt the organization to the European legislation following the reform carried out in the LOU of the new regime of university education which assigns the autonomous agencies the authority in the renewal of the accreditation of degrees and their monitoring.
The new university regime especially affects the criteria on the external assessment of the universities established in the report proposed by ENQA (European Association for the Guarantee of Higher Education) and assumed by the Conference of European Ministers of the countries participating in the Bologna Process and responsible for Higher Education.
The Decree passed by the Government intends to make the necessary changes in order to adapt the Agency’s plan of operation to the European standards and requirements.It is, all in all, a total adaptation to Europe.
The aforementioned Decree 1/2010, of January 12, was published on January 21 in the Canarian Official Gazette (BOC nº 13, January 2010).
