Assessment for Newly Created University Institutes.
ACECAU has created a report format that aims to orientate external assessors in their task of elaborating the Initial Report on the Justifying Memoir for the creation of University Institutes. This values the presented Justifying Memoir.
This Report is based on ACECAU’s model for the institutional assessment of the Canarian Research Institutes quality, which stems from its intention to coordinate and develop the assessment functions that correspond to the Agency or those that it might be commended.
Therefore a structured report consisting in seven well differentiated sections is proposed:
- INSTITUTE GENERAL FEATURES.
- INSTITUTE JUSTIFICATION, ACTIVITIES, AIMS AND FUNCTIONS.
- PLANNING, ORGANIZATION AND MANAGEMENT.
- MATERIAL RESOURCES, INFRASTRUCTURE, EQUIPMENT AND BUDGET.
- PREVIOUS INDICATIONS OF RESEARCH QUALITY AND CONSISTENCY
External assessors must carry out a qualitative assessment on each criterion, taking into account what is written in the Justifying Memoir, and also a semi-quantitative assessment of its stand towards each criterion.
